Get great abs in only six weeks

Are you going on vacation or hitting the beach in six weeks and have to pack some great abs along with the swim suit? Well then, let’s get started.

First it’s all about burning fat. For a man you need to be below 10% body fat, for a woman you need to be below 16%. Let’s take a step by step approach to this.

Do not start with a diet! Diets are designed to fail simply because they are a short term solution. You need to fundamentally change the way you eat. Avoid overly processed foods. Eat foods that nature wants you to eat like bison, lean beef, chicken, turkey and fish. Snack on fresh veggies, fruit and nuts. Nutrition is important because you can work out all you want but, if you don’t have a foundation of good nutrition, it will do you no good.

Now, let’s get to the gym. No, don’t do sit ups and crunches! At least not yet. We’re going to work on increasing your resting rate of metabolism so that you are burning calories at a higher rate throughout the day rather than just when you work out. To do this we are going to be doing compound exercises such as squats, bench press, dead lifts, dips and military press as well as others. Because these exercises work more than one muscle group at a time they serve to increase your body’s resting metabolism rate and cause you to burn more calories throughout the day. These exercises also tone and strengthen the core muscles in your torso which includes your abs.

Next we are going to develop a cardio regimen that is based on, no not running miles and miles a day, but short sprints. Yes, that’s right. Sprints actually serve to increase your metabolism just like the exercises above so that you burn more fat when you do run longer distances but also while you sleep.

The last thing you might want to do is the easiest. Drink lots of green tea. It has also been proven to raise your metabolism. Put all these things together and watch the pound melt away over the next six weeks.
