Planning on going to the beach this summer and want to be able to show off a set of rock hard abs for the ladies? It’s really not that hard if you know what to do. The problem is that most men focus on the wrong things when trying to achieve those fabled rock hard abs.
The first stop on the way to the beach is the grocery store. No, not for tanning oil but for some good nutritious food. It has been said that rock hard abs are made in the kitchen and not in the gym and, if you are eating overly processed foods that come in bags or boxes you are never going to make it to the beach. Start eating fresh fruit, nuts and vegetables. Eat fish, chicken and lean beef. There is no need to go on a diet because diets are designed to last a short time. Just change the way you eat and you’re off to a great start.
The second stop on the way to the beach is the gym. But, you need to know what exercises to do. A lot of people spend a lot of time doing ab exercises only to see no results. This is because you can’t spot reduce fat. Most people have a reasonably good set of abs. they are just hidden behind a beer gut. To remove the layer of fat that is obscuring your abs you need to get down to 10% body fat. There are two ways to do this, by building muscle and increasing your resting metabolism rate. It is a known fact that the more muscle you have, the more muscle you will burn. So, put on some muscle. But there are better exercises for increasing metabolism than others. The exercises you will want to concentrate on are the bench press, military press, clean and jerk, dead lifts and squats. There are some others as well, but these are the central players in getting you some rock hard abs.
Why is this? Because these exercises work your body’s core, or torso. They work your back and your front as well as the primary muscle groups they target. And, because they work so many muscles at once, the body is exhausted and it increases your metabolism.
