Going on vacation? Want to get a great set of abs? Or perhaps you’ve met that perfect someone and you want to turn their head. Well, it is easier than you might think.
Step one: Don’t diet. That’s right; I told you it might be easier than you think. Diets are a short term fix for a long term goal. You want to keep the weight off and maintain a great set of abs. To do this you must change the way you approach the way you eat. Most people don’t have great abs because they don’t eat properly. Stay away from over processed foods like TV dinners, potato chips, pretzels etc. Stay away of highly refined foods like soda and candy bars. My wife lost 40 – 50 lbs. in a year just by cutting out soda. You will want to start eating more healthy foods such as chicken and fruits and vegetables and brown rice. Also, you will want to eat more often. Yes, more often. I told you it might be easier than you think. However you will want to eat smaller portions. Eat 4 – 6 small meals a day.
Step two: the next step to fabulous abs is to begin burning fat. Men need to get below 10% body fat and women need to get below 16% before they start revealing their great set of abs. You don’t do this by doing all sorts of ab exercises however. Why? Because they don’t actually do too much to burn fat. Surprisingly, the more muscle you have the more fat you will burn, so, you want to build muscle by lifting weights. The exercises that burn the most fat and increase your metabolism are called compound exercises. These work multiple muscle groups at the same time.
Step three: begin a cardio regimen to burn even more fat. However, you don’t need to spend hours and hours on the treadmill or elliptical. See, easier than you thought, right? While running longer distances burns more calories running short wind sprints raises your metabolism so you burn more calories throughout the day.
Put these three simple steps together and your great set of abs will be turning heads in no time.
