The best way to get flat sexy abs does not involve diets or lots of sit ups or even lots of running. It involves increasing your rate of metabolism so that you are burning fat at a faster rate throughout the day.

Let’s take a look at the places people usually go wrong in trying to achieve flat, sexy abs.

Diet. Diets are doomed to fail because they are a temporary fix to a long term problem. You want to take the weight off and keep it off. To do this you need to change your approach to nutrition in general. Stop eating overly processed highly refined foods with lots of sugars in them. Cut out the soda and fast food. Eat foods closer to the way nature intended. Fresh vegetables, nuts and fruit are better snacks than potato chips and pretzels. Eat lean beef, chicken and fish. Bison meat is the perfect meal.

Sit ups. The reason doing lots of sit ups doesn’t work is because you can’t spot reduce fat. You can’t eliminate fat from your belly any more than you could eliminate it from your right arm. You’ve got to reduce the your over all body fat percentage to under 10% for men and under 16% for women.

While running long distances does burn calories, running ten 100 meter sprints will increase your rate of metabolism and you’ll burn more calories throughout the day.

One of the other best ways of increasing your overall rate of metabolism is to do weight lifting exercises that work multiple muscle groups at the same time. The more muscle you have, the more fat you will burn. But, if you do exercises such as the clean and jerk, bench press and dead lift you will be increasing your metabolism and burning more calories than you would have otherwise.
