Home ab workouts

Do you want to firm up your abs but don’t want to go through the hassle of going to the gym. No problem. The exercises I’m going to tell you about can be done with nothing more than a set of dumbbells or even just your body weight. Dumb bells for abs? Am I reading the right article? Yes, you are. Let me tell you a little secret that not too many people know about, because the vast majority of people who spend lots of time working their abs don’t see the results. Even though ab workouts firm and strengthen the ab muscles the results are usually never seen because those muscles are hidden by a layer of fat.

The real trick of getting a nice set of abs is to lower your overall body fat percentage to less than 10% for men and 16% for women. The following exercises will not only workout all the muscles in your body but increase your metabolism for days after so that you are burning more fat.

1. Military Press.
2. Clean and jerk.
3. Dead lift.
4. Squats.
5. Romanian dead lift.
6. Lunges.

It has been said that great abs are made in the kitchen and not the gym. So, since you are working out at home, it is appropriate that we talk about proper nutrition as well.

Recent surveys have shown that America is the most obese country in the world with English speaking countries like the UK and Australia in the top ten. One of the main reasons for this is all the highly processed and overly refined foods that we consume. If we simply switch from eating pre packaged or fast foods to eating food closer to their more natural and more nutritious state we will be far ahead of the game.

Rather than eating a fast food burger for lunch pack some tuna salad. Rather than eating some potato chips eat a hand full of nuts. Rather than eating something out of a box for dinner, make some fish. These foods are significantly better for you and it won’t be long until you notice a difference in your body.
