More home ab workouts

Here are some great and surprising ab workouts that you can do in the privacy of your own home. You can use dumb bells or even just the weight of your body. Now, I said that these ab workouts will be surprising, and they will be, so I need to explain some things first. Most traditional ab workouts really don’t yield the results people want. This is because you can’t spot reduce fat on the belly and sit ups, crunches and other typical workouts don’t burn enough calories to reduce body fat percentage.

For men to see their abs their body fat percentage needs to be below 10% and for women it needs to be below 16%. The only way to really do that is to increase your resting rate of metabolism. That is what the following exercises will do. They look deceptively simple, and they are, but they will cause you to exert such effort that your body will go through a metabolic change. Lastly, they also work your abs even though they don’t look like it. Take my word, try it and you’ll feel it in your abs the next day.

Squat: Standing up and looking straight ahead squat into a sitting position, keeping your back straight and your eyes forward and then stand up again. Do this repeatedly.

Dead lift: Squatting over a pair of dumb bells and looking straight ahead lift the dumb bells, keeping your back straight and your eyes forward stand up and then lower the dumbbells again. Do this repeatedly.

One armed dumbbell snatch: Standing up over a dumb bell and looking straight ahead squat down and pick up the dumb bell. Then, in one motion, stand up and lift the dumb bell over your head. Then return it to the ground, lowering your body in a squatting position. Do this repeatedly.

Dumb bell swings: Squatting over a dumb bell lift it as you stand up and raise it with both of your arms shoulder height in front of you. Lower it to the ground again with your body in a squatting position.
